The special collection – Citizen Security Dialogues: Dispatches from Mexico – features original research from Mexico’s leading security and justice experts. Contributors critically assesses an array of interventions including community policing schemes, law enforcement oversight initiatives, criminal justice innovations, and civil society activities designed to help residents recover from violence. A key tenet of the Citizen Security Dialogues is its focus on data-driven analysis and the examination of under-researched themes and settings. The goal is to draw attention to what works, and what does not, when it comes to promoting citizen security in Latin America and South Africa.
