Listed as one of Brazil’s top NGOs

The Igarapé Institute was selected as Brazil’s top human rights NGO in 2018. The Institute was also listed as one of the 100 Best NGOs in Brazil. The prize was issued by Instituto Doar and Rede Filantropia. There are more than 300,000 NGOs in Brazil, 2,500 of which were competing for consideration. “This award is a reminder of the importance of non-governmental organizations in shaping robust public security strategies in the country,” according to Igarapé Institute researcher, Mariana Rondon. During the ceremony, Instituto Doar also launched the second edition of the Best NGOs Guide which highlights good practices among award winners.
