There is growing international consensus that the war on drugs has failed and that evidence-based alternatives are urgently needed. The Igarapé Institute coordinates several networks and initiatives intended to reform drug policy and introduce more effective and efficient solutions oriented around health, rights and development. It serves as the Latin American Office for the Global Commission on Drug Policy and co-founded Pense Livre, a network of thought leaders and doers committed to rational drug policy reform.
