Book: Building Sustainable Peace

oxford23 August, 2016: Robert Muggah, research director of the Igarapé Institute, contributed a chapter to this new book published by Oxford University Press. It’s on Disarmament Demobilization and Reintegration, or DDR. Oxford University Press is the world’s top publisher and the book brings together some of the leading thinkers on peace and security.

We can say that global disorder is generating new tensions, including from The South China Sea to Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This is contributed to unprecedented refugee and displacement flows and massive peacekeeping deployments.

This book offers some fact based approaches to building sustainable peace.
