Brazil takes center stage in G20, advancing social issues

Under Brazil’s presidency, the social agenda of the G20 has gained significant focus this year, with proposals addressing three key priorities of the country’s leadership: poverty alleviation, reform of global governance, and sustainable development. Participation from organizations extended beyond engagement groups, with formal contributions made in working groups within the Sherpa and Finance tracks.

As the Leaders’ Summit approaches—scheduled for November 18-19 in Rio—this experience is already deemed successful and is seen as a rehearsal for two other forums that Brazil will host next year: the BRICS Summit and the 30th UN Climate Conference (COP30) in Belém.
