Marina Alkmim holds a Master degree in International Relations from UFRJ, with a GPA awarded with Summa Cum Laude honors, a master’s degree in International Politics from IRI-PUC Rio, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the same institution.
In previous experiences, she served as a research assistant at the UNESCO/UNU Chair in Global Economy and Sustainable Development (REGGEN), at the ‘Geopolitics, World System, and Regional Integration’ Research Center (IFCS-UFRJ), and at the Observatory of Contemporary Politics and Economy in Human Rights (IRID-UFRJ).
At Igarapé, she works as a senior researcher in the field of public security and civic space, focusing on violence against women and the control of arms and ammunition.
