Igarapé Institute will be present at the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, closely following the events, especially those parallel to the Leaders’ Summit, including G20 Social. We continue to support the Brazilian G20 presidency’s strategic and leadership agenda, aligning with this year’s and next’s key global milestones, such as the COP16 on Biodiversity in Cali and COP29 on Climate in Baku, looking ahead to COP30 on Climate in Belém in 2025.

The Institute will lead discussions on critical topics to address the climate crisis, including synergies between the G20 and COP processes to mobilize finance for climate, nature, and sustainable development; the role of Brazilian global leadership in a green and just economic transition; and strategies to expand green enterprises and unlock responsible investments in the Amazon Basin and other biomes.
