The Igarapé Institute, as its name in Tupi suggests - “path of the canoe” - seeks new routes and confluences to face the complex challenges of our time. We work from local to global, connecting research, innovation and collaboration among governments, civil society, and the private sector.
We are committed to changing the course of this era of systemic risks by integrating the streams of security, nature and climate. As a think and do tank – a center for research and action – we produce applied knowledge and innovative solutions.
Our goal is to support policies and practices, both public and private, toward development with ecological balance and social justice. We believe in rowing together, in the collective transformation of the present as our legacy to the generations of today and tomorrow.
